About Friends
Driven to Support the Camarillo Library The Friends of the Camarillo Library is a non-profit organization run solely by volunteers.
To accomplish its mission of supporting the Camarillo Public Library, the Friends utilizes funds derived from memberships, monetary donations, bequests and the sale of donated used books, CDs and similar materials. The donated books and materials are sold in our bookstore attached to the library.
The Friends of the Camarillo Library is a non-profit, 501(c)3 tax exempt corporation. All donations to the Friends are tax deductible. The money raised is used to provide the Camarillo Public Library with books and materials, library equipment, and other enhancements to the library and its programs. The funds are also used to support the Library Summer Reading and Activity programs, as well as monthly programs for adults.
Through generous donations and patronage of our Bookstore, the Friends provides up to $200,000 annually in support to the Camarillo Public Library!
Our Mission
The Friends of the Camarillo Library's mission focuses on bringing the services and facilities of the Camarillo Public Library to the attention and interest of the Camarillo community.
The Friends help support the library by providing funding of new book and magazine purchases, library materials and supplies, and other unmet needs of the library.
Further, the Friends provide support for a full range of year-round library programs for children through seniors, as well as a travel service for its members.
Friends of the Camarillo Library has achieved the Gold Transparency 2022 approval from GuideStar by Candid, the world’s largest source of information on nonprofits.
The logo demonstrates Friends of the Camarillo Library's deep commitment to nonprofit transparency and accountability. In order to be awarded the Gold logo, Friends of the Camarillo Library had to complete every required data point of our nonprofit profile on GuideStar.org for the Gold level of participation.
